In a world where everything old is new again, comedian Louie Anderson suggests we might get new episodes of the Fox classic, Life with Louie.
Louie recently spoke with MZNOW‘s Michael Zavala about his new book, Hey Mom: Stories for My Mother, But You Can Read Them Too.
Do you think we’ll ever see a ‘Life with Louie’ reboot at some point?
You know, it’s so funny you would say that. We’ve been working on that exact thing. That’s really funny. You know, people ask me about ‘Life with Louie’ every day. I’ve been talking to Matt Callahan, who’s the other creator. We were in the process of it, and then the pandemic happens. So we’ve continued to work on it, and hope that we’ll be able to revive that show which a lot of people fell in love with. I was lucky enough to recreate my family and make it you know, the thing that a lot of people really enjoyed. I loved making that. It was one of the high points in my life where I got to really make something that I thought, you know, not just kids, but kids and their families could watch.
I was also a fan of ‘Bobby’s World.’ Was there ever a plan to do a crossover event with Louis and Bobby?
You know, we talked about it one time. They were talking about having all those Fox Kids shows do, kind of, back-to-back crossovers, leading into each other. But it never quite manifested. I think, you know, those kinds of things with animation, you have to plan them so far out. I think it was talked about. A lot of times people say, “Hey, I love your show ‘Bobby’s World!'” And I go, “Yeah, that was great.” I don’t argue with them. I just go, “Yeah, thank you.” Because it’s more fun to do that, you know? Sometimes people say, “I love your show Buckets.” And I go “Well, thank you.” I don’t argue with people. “You’re the one guy right?” Yes, I am that one.
